Is there a way to connect to public wifi on Ultra AI?

Currently at a hotel with public wifi that pops up a window to put in your e-mail and room to connect to the wifi.

I can’t seem to get the light to go blue after holding the play button, it just goes back to the breathing white light.

I’ve found a work around where I would hotspot from my phone, connect it, and once the device is connected I can change the wifi to the hotel wifi and do it that way, but it seems to glitch out later on.

Wondering if there’s a solid fix. Thank you!

I use vg2 always via hotspot wifi from my phone.works fine.

Our devices and all other IoT devices cannot connect to captive networks with captive portals. That means that if there is any kind of login screen where you need to input a room number or agree to something before accessing the internet, the devices cannot directly connect.

But there is a workaround, although it does require another device.

THIS IS A LINK To a GLI net travel router. You connect this device to your hotel’s Wi-Fi network, and it basically gets you past that setup screen and then creates its own network. The network created by this is a normal network with a normal name and a password that you back to instead of connecting to your hotel’s network.

This is documentation explaining how to do it. It takes just 1-2 minutes.

Alternatively, you can connect to your cell phone’s hotspot and use that, but you cannot manage the connection to your hotspot with your cell phone if it is also acting as the hotspot. So if you had a tablet or a computer, you would use that to administrate the connection, and then you’d connect to your 5G hotspot on your cell phone.

This worked for me for a couple of years but stopped working for AB ultra and vacuglide recently. T-mobile 5g network for what it’s worth. There is another thread on this board attempting to resolve that issue.

Saw that, it’s not something we control at all. Our devices are unchanged. I am not sure why that would be happening with T-Mobile hotspots specifically. I think there might be more going on, maybe related to the strength of the connection. I will have our engineer respond to that thread.
